Profile of Tool and Gauge

The quality and viability of a product often completely relies on the mould or tool used to make it. Precision and accuracy are essential, while the tool or mould must stand the test of time to ensure the product is scalable and profitable. The importance of tool and mould design to the production process means many manufacturers turn to Tool and Gauge, an industry-leading precision mould and tool maker.

Tool and Gauge is a member of the Atlantic MedTech Cluster. Many of its clients are in the MedTech industry plus it also provides services to other regulated industries. This is in addition to providing services to other companies that require high levels of precision and accuracy in their tool and mould designs.

Gerry Rafter is a joint Managing Director of Tool and Gauge. He said: “There are a lot of tool and mould makers in the market servicing a range of different industries. Our USP, however, the thing that makes us stand out from the competition, is the experience and knowledge of tool and mould making that is in our business.

“We have built up this knowledge and experience over decades. It ensures accuracy and reliability whenever we design a tool or mould. Our clients regularly expect the moulds and tools we produce to be capable of manufacturing one million units without failing. We can deliver on these requirements.

“In addition, the knowledge and experience we have in-house give us the ability to provide our clients with expert advice. This particularly applies to advice on whether it will be possible to scale an idea into a tangible product that can be mass produced.”
